Saturday 15 September

Pavan
Sat 15 Sep 2007 07:42
The dawns' grey fingers heralded a bleak and murkey Saturday morning. Overcast and damp, with a sullen NE slop.

As ususl, we have motored during the night to gain easting. and have made good progress since I came on watch at 02.30.

At 08.00 PAVAN is now about 60 miles west of Ushant, and about 100 miles SW of the Lizard. There is about 8/10 knots of wind dead on the nose

David and I both have to be in our offices on Monday, and there was nothing in the 04.00 forecast to suggest any wind to help us get there.

Sadly, we have no real option other than to motor into wind and towards Falmouth

Providing the wind and sea state do not deteriorate further, we should be passed the Lizard light before midnight, and be in Falmouth by 04.00 Sunday morning.

The smell of an English breakfast is becoming a possibility............
