Day 3:

Antigua, Guatemala

This was my least favorite part of the trip. Going to Antigua was reminiscent of going to Leavenworth, Washington for me. It is super touristic and over the top. And locals are not very friendly.

Our hotel in the daylight, as it was dark when we arrived the night before

The door behind the stairway is the door to our bedroom.

We had one of those ‘railroad’ rooms, narrow and long. (If you’ve seen the movie Last Days of Disco, you’re familiar with the _expression_ ‘railroad apartment’. J)

Easter carpet. It is made of colored sand. They are like a cornucopia. Locals come and drop fresh food every day.

It is a big sacrifice considering most people can’t afford to eat these foods every day.

They was one in every church and public place we visited.
