Just another day at sea but this is a positively busy one . After no ships
for nearly 3 days we heard radio traffic but got no answer when we called.
However a sailing yacht passed within 100 metres half an hour ago and those with
good eyesight i.e. everyone except the skipper can see 7 other yachts dotted
across the horizon. At the same time a very large container ship crossed our
stern at 3 miles.
What a busy little ocean this is.
We spoke by VHF to the yacht closest. They are 4 Dutch people who along
with 14 other yachts are on their way to the Azores on a rally called Ocean
People. those with an interest in these matters could investigate and let us
know what they are about.
The sun is shining after a cloudy start but there is still a nip in the
air. No sunbathing in speedos yet!
Activities Well apart from having to take down the mizzen stay sail when
the wind backed and getting our boomed out genoa goose winging nothing much for
all except James who has been fishing all day. So guess what we are having for
dinner tonight. Tuna? Dorado? No Irish Stew!
