We have had a great sail down Fuerteventura although pretty windy and quite
rough out to sea. The sail across to Las Palmas was exhilarating - 25-30
knots on the beam with large ocean swells and the occasional "pooping" from
a rogue wave. Kids loved the fast ride enjoying the big swells and watching
the waves. A little bird joined us for most of the journey tucked in behind
the mast. We managed 60 miles in 7 hours averaging about 8 knots per hour.
It is great to have arrived in Las Palmas and the excitement building for
the ARC is palpable.
