Marrakech and all that

Sometimes the place is right and your not. This was the case of Marrakech. We had been hiking in subartic conditions for four days in the atlas mountains, and then as though by tardis we arrived in the hot claustrophobic city . Like a badly measured suit no matter how good the fabric is, it will never fit. We were not up for it. The crowds were painful the street hawkers that previously were effortlessly ignored now grated us. Hannah had a snake thrust around her neck (see photo) but after 2 hours there we collectively ran to the car to head anywhere.

\if the greens are reading this, places are what you make off them, we were exhausted and it was the wrong place for us.

The sea beckoned we looked at the map and Essaourai looked great, a couple of hours drive to this ancient coastal city. The kids were asleep in the back of the car, dawn dozed and i drove. An hour into the trip the heavens opened and by the time we arrived a full storm was in progress. We drove half heartedly looking for an affordable pleasant hotel, the winds were literally blowing a gale. At last we caved in and checked into a very expensive western hotel. For the next24 hours the wind never abated and other than get to the closest restaurant we really saw very little of this town. However we had a laptop, dvds from sarah

next day, weather unimproved we headed back to our home...yacht mithril
