Day 3 Imlil

The landscape changed dramatically from rugged granite/limestone to a red clay which coloured the mountain streams red, the rain resumed and soon our feet were lost in glutinous red mud. The walk started with a steep incline up this red mud, the mules couldent cope and went another route. By now we had acclimatised and hardened somewhat to this trekking. We walked a good two hours up and up and we managed to keep going and with no mules what choice did we have. In my mind the thought of being back at our original hotel inspired me. Anyhow when the summit of th pass appeared it was  much appreciated especially as our destination was visible and the long path down looked good. I remember a teacher at school who was a very keen rambler once remarking “going down is just as hard as going up”..what a complete idiot he was, going down is a breeze, i love going down hill, its when the overweight are rewarded by gravity...thank you Isaac Newton.

Nothing much to report before we reached our destination, Dawn took photos, Gabriel stoically refrained from asking too often ”how much longer”, Hannah Stoically refrained from asking too often “are you alright dad” and i stoically refrained from asking the guide “there must be a shorter way “.

Its now two weeks from the trip, and like child birth the pain recedes to the point that you would consider doing it again. It was fantastic the views the walks the utterly amazing scenery, but the best was Travelling with my Family.
