Muros (Ensenada de San Francisco to be exact) 42.47N 009.03W  17th October

As of yet we haven’t really anchored rough planet style. We have mainly been in Marinas and once in Kinsale anchored outside the marina to see if we could get the windlass to work. Anyhow this was going to be the day. Were still planning to get to Bayona but we thought lets break up the trip and anchor in one of the rias on the way. So off we set, a bit apprehensive as we were to go round Finisterre which has a reputation of being difficult. This is where I should describe 100 knot winds and crashing waves, however all was peaceful and we had a gentle and sunny sail. Got to Muros (a bit like I imagine Eastbourne) and got within 500 yds of the beach and guess what. It all went fine. And we saw some whales. We didn’t get a picture of them however we think they were killer whales and I have downloaded a pic from the internet as to what we saw. It was cool. Anyhow one of the best things about sailing is sleeping when you are at anchor, it is so peaceful. Took the tender to the beach where The kids played I slept. (and did not get in the water as it’s not worth it till I’m 49).
