Some Wind - but not much

Blessed with a couple of hours of wind today - so
time for the cruising chute. Unfortunately crew all too bone idle to do anything
so skipper has to do the job himself. Everyone's grog rations cut for bad
attitude.
But then it was back to the depressing variable
5kts of breeze, flogging sails and limited forward progress. But when the
wind blew Mercury Rising picked up her skirts and flew like George Best at the
start of Happy Hour.
Meantime the intrepid crew are preparing to cope
with the storm brewing in the atlantic. Hatches have been battened, water-tight
doors have been closed and some of us are already sitting in the life raft just
in case.
