Mercury Rising back on back on track/ skippers log sad

Mercury-rising

This morning saw us beating for the third day into the trades. At last
sailing into a beautiful sunrise towards St. Lucia. We expect our distance
to go to drop steadily now after a very disappointing couple of days. We
have
seen lots of boats doing the return journey, many of them so pleased to see
us that they would not stop waving

Very worried that our supply of Ritalin is running low . My very pleasant
and compliant first mate professes to no knowledge of where it could have
gone. Without it both he and the rest of the crew will start to exhibit some
of the symptoms that put them in the home
for disturbed sailors in the first place. Hence I recently took the
precautionof throwing the cutlery overboard.

Have had some problems with our charging system but with our sextant skills
and superb helsmen confidently expect to make landfall this month between
Rio de Janero and Newfoundland.

Update - We have a very flat topped mountain in sight obscuring the view of
the Pitons but expect to be there with you very soon.-

Update - Passing liferaft points out we are too far south. We thank him ,
turn around, and leave. He too waves us goodbye, (sailors are such very nice
poeple, South Africans especially
ETA now slightly later than planned
