PRESS RELEASE X-YACHTS GOLD CUP 2013 AT ROYAL DANISH YACHT CLUB IN TUBORG HARBOR

The new Xp 55 on her first trip, participates in the X-Yachts Gold Cup 2013 at Øresund from 17 – 20 July.     Royal Danish Yacht Club holds X-Yachts Gold Cup 2013 from Wednesday 17th to Saturday 20th July taking place in Tuborg Harbor.   More than 1000 participants aboard 110 ocean cruisers from X-Yachts from 14 different countries participate in this high profiled regatta.     DENMARK’S LARGEST SAILSPORT EVENT TAKES PLACE IN COPENHAGEN   The event will benefit from perfect sailing conditions, stable winds and predominantly sunny weather.   X-Yachts is the largest yacht yard in Denmark with a history of more than 5000 X-Yachts since 1979. These yachts have won 8 official world championships. To mention one of them, X-Yachts has built ocean yacht racing boats to Danish participants in Admiral’s Cup.   The X-Yachts headquarter is situated in Haderslev, from which all development, production and sales take base. The export of the yard makes out more than 95% of the total production. The boats are being sold in Europe, Hong Kong, Australia and USA, and in 2013 new sales departments have been opened in 5 countries – China, New Zealand, Brazil, Chile and Canada.   This year’s Gold Cup represents two of the largest X-Yachts of the Gold Cup field – the X-65, which is 20 m long - and the new Xp 55 which is 17 m long. Furthermore, a new Australian Xp 44 participates. All in all, this counts 50 X-Yachts Gold Cup participants who have travelled half around the world to sail this prestigious unofficial world championship for boats built by Danish X-Yachts.   Up to 9 races are being sailed on lanes in the waters outside Tuborg/Skovshoved before the final winners can be celebrated on Saturday 20th July.   X-Yachts newest models participate in the Gold Cup 2013 and the field of participants includes a wide range of X-Yachts’ previous models.
