Laragh's voyage

We've had a very fast trip from Thursday Island so far in the strong SE trades, 15-25 knots most of the time averaging 6.5-7.5 kn. The Arafura is a rolly sea though with shallow depths, mostly 20-50 metres as it once was a land bridge between Australia and Papua, so the waves are short and twisting from behind. We're just passing Kepulauan Aru and expect to sight the Kai islands (east Maluku province) tomorrow morning and then be in Tual by tomorrow afternoon.
Dave saw a banded sea snake coming out of a wave but otherwise nothing much in the way of wildlife except a few terns.
