Today we finally met up with “Lady Be “ again.
Burt, Jef and me flew in on yesterday (April 27th ), after a not too uncomfortable flight.
A 20 min drive along pastures and creeks brought us to the City boat yard (you can see the yard behind the old freighter)

The first impression of our boat was quite pleasing. Her underwatership was painted in stylish Regatta Baltoplate and all halyards were brand new again.

However, water has found its way in through the mast and a window underneath the steering wheel, so we will be doing a lot of “spring cleaning” tomorrow.
Already been shopping in the local Lowes for a portable pressure cleaner, a garden hose (that can double later on as a deck shower :-)), and some other stuff.
Larry from the boat yard provided us with spray-on cleaner that would take care of all germs and creepy crawlers (might spray some extra to keep the piggy flue at bay)
(Burt vs. the old decals part one)

As a reward we treated ourselves with a night in the nearby Marriot, and dinner at the Water’s Edge restaurant  in Shem Creek.
I had the 20$ “Crispy Flounder” that tasted excellent.
Amidst a scenery of shrimp boats (boated by Lt. Dan himself ?), Burt and Jeff reminisced about “old sailing days” while I was trying not to swallow too much fish bones.
If anyone knows the Dutch translation of Flounder, drop me a line…
