The second section of our passage from Troon to Porto started at Falmouth where we we moored up along with the big boys. Three of the clipper round the world racers and their very apprehensive crews. They were making the final preparations before passage to Liverpool and the commencement of the race.

Kasuje in with the big boys.                         Bruce and Angela still smiling after a Biscay blow.

Bruce and Angela joined us for our leg south across the notorious Bay of Biscay before following the Northern Spain and Portuguese coasts to Porto.
The Bay lived up to it's reputation even at this late summer time with 30 hrs of 30 -35 knot winds, gusting to 45 knots, and swell you could ski down! But Kasuje came into her own and looked after us very well, these Hallberg Rassy people really do know a thing or two about yacht design.

The natural world also joined us with sightings of Fin whales on three occasions numerous pods of dolphins and a visit from a Warbler hitching a ride on his migration to North Africa.

Warbler hitching a ride                Gulls off Finistere

Around Finistere we were further treated with huge flocks of gulls feeding on the crabs in the lee of Finistere cliffs, this on a beautiful still evening was a real treat for us all

                       Even gulls can look beautiful

Kasuje is now safely moored in Lexioes marina Porto awaiting the arrival of the Portuguese Pirates!
