Yesterday started off well with a large whale surfacing approx 20m off our bow and crossed immediately in front of us. It was an amazing experience for the uninitiated! The calm morning was then interrupted by strong winds and rough seas for the rest of the day and well into the night. The biscay was starting to live up to its formidable reputation. We were wet, cold and Belinda was miserable and promising never to do this again, yet still has about 250nm to go before she can hang up her oilies.
Keiths gordon ramsey impression of preparing lunch before the onslaught, whilst being appreciated at the time, the cheese and large quantity of raw onion rolls did nothing for our constitution once we started rolling about. Thanks Keith, but keep out of the galley! (his moules and savoury omellette combos were fantastic though whilst at harbour).
