Bad day at the office

Wind completely died at 6am since when it has been drift, winds 8-10 knots speed often 5-6 knots.  Meant we had a poorish run to noon 2 Dec of 185nm but since then 61 nm in 9 hours so tomorrow will be poor too.  We were trying to make it south towards the St Lucia latitude but stuck in a big hole.

Despite lack of wind we did manage to have a spectacular broach (for the record Otter at the helm) with a big wind shift in a squall when we managed to get a lot of water into the Pilot Berth/James/Lara's cabin which means she was at a pretty spectacular angle.  All dried out now.

Seems to have been more wind to the north and more wind to the south but most people have suffered from lighter winds.  A Lady has sneaked ahead 10 nm and in better position 30 nm to the South of us.  Satori had a better day than us. Arsenal lost to Chelsea on Sunday but it hit home today.  Sea temperature is now 32.6 deg C but we couldn't go swimming.

So we are back in a Rally not a Race.

Skipper is in a grump but he has refreshed his knowledge of the Peloponnesian Wars. (That's the touchy feely bit)

Made 200 litres of water. Cleaned out the underside of the sail locker and drained water which must have been there for ages.  Flew the cruising chute as opposed to the parasailor when on a reach. Mended parasailor is fine.  Lara sunbathed on the foredeck in true teenage manner all day.

Caught a Wahoo which very pretty, lunch tomorrow.

As Scarlet said "Tomorrow is another day".
