Well we finally made 192 nm noon-to-noon. We
have continued to run course 230 degrees. Now it's just after supper which
was curry, naan and rice, and we have just gybed onto starboard, now heading for
our imaginary waypoint of 20N 30W which is now only 500 nm away. So that's
a big call as to whether we have gone far enough south to keep in the
wind. Supper was somewhat disturbed by a big race yacht which decided
to go past us and then gybe 600m away from us, when all day we haven't seen a
boat!
Other highlights of the day include a long
conversation with a yacht called Tilly Mint whose generator has packed up and
they don't have a spare impeller which is pretty much the first thing you would
take with you.
Our main rival is Satori which is a Farr 64 owned
by Andrew Haining and we think we are 25 miles ahead of them, which is pretty
good since they are faster than us. Unlikely to last.
No fishing today as we still have plenty of
yesterday's Mahi Mahi left. All systems seem to be working, water tanks
all full as we made a couple of hundred litres today. Wind has
remained pleasant, some spinnaker sailing but now back to main and poled out
foresail overnight.
