So, wecrossed the date line (theoretical) on the 7th -we are not to concerned about the political date line which does a kink about here to include the Chayam Islands in NZ's time zone. After much debate we decided the the day became yesterday - 6th - and the time became an hour earlier to negate NZ summer time. We change boat time to another hour earlier when we get to 172.30 deg. W. We didn't get round to deciding whose watch was the hour shorter! The confusion almost caused so to miss our schedule chat and weather forcast with Meri, a lady who runs a communication net on HF radio (SSB) under the name Bluff Fishermans Radio from, surprisingly, Bluff, Invercargill. Meri has been a good friend to Gold Braid for several years and, husband Ian chuafered us about when we docked at Bluff in 2005 to get a damaged sail stitched up.
