Day 2

The day started bright but cold with Gary, Pete and Doug taking over the helm at 0700hrs (Pete had got up at 0600hrs as found it hard to sleep for Tricia’s Blackberry alarm going off). Tricia and Tim crashed out ‘til 1030hrs by which time the wind was dying away.  After Goose winging for a couple of hours the decision to put the engine on had to be taken.  Motor sailing on auto-helm for the rest of the day would have been tedious but for the old fishermen’s’ tales coming from Pete and Doug.  Even that couldn’t keep Tricia awake and Doug eventually sent himself to sleep.  After a pasta Dinner in the saloon Gary provided the day’s best entertainment by….. [editor’s note – for reasons of internet propriety and “what goes on the boat stays on the boat” we are unable to allow this part of the blog to be published. We can say that Gary still continues to suffer the effects of seasickness].  We certainly needed the laugh as we were making about 1knot/hr over the ground against the tide at Tusker Rock and had been enjoying the view of the light house for several hours.  The weather remained bright and dry as the whole crew turned in leaving skipper Pete on watch with just his I-pod this was to drown out the noise from the fore cabin made by the tmm crew.

Big shout out to Fi, Clara, big d, Maggie and Frazer  missing you all loads x
