Good Afternoon

Ceilidh departed Kos Marina at 14:00 hours today on route for Malta. This is the first stage in Ceilidh’s long journey to Las Palmas in Gran Canaria where she has entered the 2012 ARC commencing on 25 November. On reaching St Lucia then on around 14 December the yacht will make her way to Grenada where she will spend the winter.
We have F4 NW’ly blowing and are making around 7.5 knots on a glorious sunny day.
While normally I would be more than a little sad to leave the delightful island of Kos behind, on this occasion cabin fever had set in after a week preparing Ceilidh for sea and I was in truth desperate to clear the marina breakwater and gain the freedom of the seas once again!
The Fisher Panda 4 KW generator is installed and tested and is performing as expected.
The North Sails code 0 Gennaker required some modifications of the bow deck fittings to accommodate this, currently hoisted in the furled mode but not yet really had a chance to use sailing.
Mikola and his team at Istion pretty much spent all day every day this week working on Ceilidh and did a superb job. We have done the equivalent of the yacht’s annual maintenance and some major new installations all in 10 days which is a fantastic achievement.
In addition we have also had great support and help from the following friends and businesses at Kos:
Jacksons beach bar – use of their van for collecting our stores.
Tony from Degli Amici Restaurant- supplied us with 30 portions of Spaghetti Bolognese and 30 litres of red and white wine!
On board for the Kos to Malta leg we have:
DS, Richard Philips, Neil Davidson, Andy Williams, Zoe Pritchard.
Our ETA will be around 18:00 on Monday evening at Malta where we plan a 2 day stopover.
