0600 slip lines!

So we are at sea, the dress rehearsals have started!  First thing to sort as we put the main up was the reefing lines, when the riggers/shore team had refitted the main they had crossed over the first and second reefing lines!!  All sorted now.  We have also run headsail sheets to replace self tacker to get better sail trim and a hove too when serving food (Bacon almost did not make it to crew!)

We have come up past Carriacou and Union Island, then back out to the NW through the Martinique Channel to test the steering gear on a close reach, all OK.  What a location though, crew wanted to stop at Union Island and the Beach Club we could see on Palm Island.

Now in to our first night at sea, very warm and humid, also just had an hour of heavy rain. waterproofs in this heat!

So having covered the first 12 hours what can we say about pre-production at the Dodgy Dock, True Blue Bay.  When we first arrived we noticed the humidity, way up but after 30+ hours traveling all we wanted to do was sleep, the pool side had to do until we could get on the boat after lunch.  But after 8 hours in the departure lounge at Trinidad (gaps between the seats made the floor the only option for sleep) it was not to bad.  The afternoon was spent in a check of the boat and finding out where other places we needed were.  More on Day Two of Pre-Production tomorrow
