Mayotte: a part of France in the Madagascar Channel. Part of the Comoros Islands 99% of them very sensibly voted to stay a part of France rather than fight it out with the other Comoros Islands and they are now the beneficiary of considerable largesse from the French government. Unfortunately we didn’t see much because of a never-ending round of commissions to source replacement parts, mend broken engines and generally stock up in the French supermarkets. I think we now need a holiday but it’s on to Grand Comores.
