Sunday, left plymouth at 08:15 and motored a mill pond, with hardly a breath of wind, to falmouth some 41nm and 7 hrs later.  Occasional sun, no rain and a nice relaxing passage.

Falmouth was more that just  a Biscay stepping stone but a destination to carry out repairs.  The pressure was on because a weather window to get to Cameret appeared to open Mon night/Tuesday.  Fail to hit the window and we could be held up till the end of the week, but we'd be running against Rob's need to get back to the office and would start messing up Mark and Simon's travel plans to Coruna.  Happily we've been immensely fortunate.  Nick helped enormously in establishing the contacts all of whom performed fabulously.  In a few words we spent the afternoon on the hard pulling out and replacing the fridge including a copper plate on the hull (hence the hard).  Simultaneously work was being done on the navtex, the radar c-me, the navcenter and installation of a new garmin nav plotter for the helsman and sealing up the forehatch while waiting for the arrival of a replacement and installation in the canaries.  It was also an opportunity to dry out bedding, cushions, clothes and the yacht.  All in a day, great service here in Falmouth and we are ready to go again.

Weather patterns still look challenging but we're hoping to get across the channel tomorrow, tues Aug 24.  We shall see we may end up in Helford River.
