Dear family and friends.

Welcome back to Vitamin Sea on the fourth day of our passage from Mindelo to St Lucia.

Today, 4th of December is our eldest daughter Mar birthday. We feel sorry not to be with her. We will give her a telephone call from the Ocean to celebrate it. We will obviously sing her happy birthday.

This first three days, the Trade winds are not stablished and winds have been milder than expected. Our sail plan was for 15 to 25 knots of wind and we are getting 6 to 15 knots. We have started the engine whenever our speed went 4 knots or below. So far we have burned 31 litres of Diesel and we had 290 litres when we left Mindelo. Weather prediction is for another 4 to 7 days with light winds.
Everything onboard is working well ( except the CD player) and we are busy trying to increase our speed changing sails, downloading weather forecasts, deciding when to start the engine and looking/avoiding squalls. Yesterday we went near two of them in a matter of two hours. We could follow them very well using our Radar. What a luxury !!

Two days ago, we had a couple of small white birds flying around our boat and eventually landing on our solar panels. After two hours they flew away.
Yesterday we ha a visit of beige coloured dolphins. They were about three meters long and they danced around our boat’s bow.
Seen flying fish is common. They fly just above the surface in groups and with their front body inclined forward and upwards . They are cute.

So for the moment the highlights are that we are very well, the boat is performing brilliantly and special mention to our wind vane autopilot. It is the star of the show. We named her as “Angelina”

This is the report of our first there days on transit to the Caribbean.

Lots of love to you all.

Ramiro
