Dear family and friends.

I am writing today from our boat "Vitamin Sea" docked in L pontoon in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.
We, Blanca and I, are undertaken final preparations for our first Atlantic crossing coming soon in two weeks time. This is the realisation of a dream which has grown bigger and bigger over the last few years and now is becoming a reality.

It is the right time to reflect on how come we are where we are today. The main driving force to embark in this plan can only be the love for sailing, the desire for adventures and the freedom that come with this life style. Once both retired from our professional life we have time for ourselves.
My passion for sailing started in my early teens. It was a revelation that has live with me all along. I am so very grateful to the person who opened up this world for me. His name was Pepe Pí, an Olympic sailor himself and an enthusiast of this life of sails and Sea. I know we would not be here in Las Palmas if it wasn't for him.

I have also being amazingly lucky to be able to pass this passion to my dearest wife Blanca, who is mad enough as to follow me in this great adventure. How could I cope without her? I just do not know.

Our trip to Las Palmas started after two years of preparations. From our home port in Bradwell marina,Essex. We set sail in mid April and we spent six months coastal sailing enjoying the South Coast of England, Channel islands, the Atlantic Coast of France, Spain, Portugal as well as Madeira and the Canary Islands.

We start this blog with the intention to share with our family and friends our adventures.
We will try to write a little bit every week to keep you update with our life.

Querida familia y amigos:

Escribo estas lineas desde nuestro barco "Vitamin Sea" amarrado en el pantalan L del Muelle Deportivo de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Estamos ultimando los preparativos para nuestro primer cruce del Oceano Atlantico de aquí dos semanas. Esta es la realizacion de un sueño que ha ido creciendo en nosotros más y más en los últimos años y ahora finalmente está aquí.

Este es un momento oportuno para reflexionar sobre como hemos llegado a aquí. El principal motivo para hacer este plan ha de ser el amor al Mar, el deseo de vivir aventuras y la libertad que viene con este estilo de vida. Mi pasión por la navigacion empezó en mi adolescencia. Fué una revelación que ha vivido conmigo toda mi vida. Mi agradecimiento más profundo a la persona que me descubrió este mundo de Mar y velas. Se llamaba Pepe Pí, el fué navegante olímpico y un entusiasta de la navegación. Yo sé que sin él no estaríamos aquí hoy.

He sido tremendamente afortunado que he podido pasar esta pasión a Blanca que está lo bastante loca como para seguirme en está maravillosa aventura. ¿Como pudiera hacer esto sin ella? francamente no lo sé.

Nuestro viaje a Las Palmas empezó después de dos años de preparación. Salimos desde nuestro puerto de Bradwell marina en Essex, Inglaterra. Salimos a mediados de Abril y durante seis meses hemos ido costeando por el Sur de Inglaterra, la Costa Atlántica de Francia, España,Portugal así como Madeira y las Islas Canarias.

Abrimos este blog con la intención de compartir nuestras aventuras con nuestros familiares y amigos.
Tenemos el propósito de poner unas lineas una vez por semana y también alguna fotillo para amenizar el relato.
