We left Lake Fjord to head south on Monday but not before a visit to inspect Gino's cross. Gino Watkins was a  very notable British polar explorer in the 30's , who sadly drowned whilst hunting from his kayak in this fjord. He was only 25!

We cruised Nigertuluk fjord and the headed into Kangertitvatsiaq with the destination of Sangmilik fjord. Anchoring in theses fjords can be tricky as they are very deep, so you have to glacial moraine or a river delta. there were very few options in this fjord and we pitched right at the head of the fjord near the glacier. We placed shore warps to reduce any swinging.

On Tuesday morning we saw an arctic fox on the beach, first time in Greenland. Ian and I managed the yacht today whilst Al, Dave and Nigel set off up the nearby mountain which looked a little heavy going under foot!  We have a system of 2 aboard in case the yacht needs moving away from ice. They also do chores.
