We are tucked up safe and sound on the moorings after a sloppy ride into
Niue with stronger winds overnight and a bit bigger following sea. Trip
wasnt too bad over the last couple of days, squalls were getting stronger
as the weather front continues to build up, forecast to hit Niue on
Saturday night. We were very fortunate to be on a mooring as it was the
last one in the mooring field. Jim and Kent from SeaLevel were first in,
in the fleet of five consisting of themselves, ourselves, Go Beyond, Elena
and Small Nest. Elena, Small Nest and SeaLevel had all been at Palmerston
but due to the forecast decided to bug out of there and head for Niue. We
got in, tied up and grabbed a rum and not long after a French catamaran
came in, obviously looking for a mooring of which of course none were
left. Trying to anchor here in the dark is a no no, so instead of
standing off waiting for daylight, we invited them into raft up to us
which of course they did and that meant a few more night caps, getting to
bed about 4.30 to a not so comfortable or quiet night sleep with the
catamaran causing our boat to jerk around and make all sorts of unpleasant
noises but hey, we are here. Report more later.
