145nm today - all of
it upwind. The wind increased again last night and veered so we tacked to get
some south in, and then tacked back again at first light this morning. We've had
about 25kts all night and most of this morning, when it finally started to veer
and allowed us to free off to about 45 degrees apparent - much more comfortable
and somewhat quicker. But any hopes of getting a fast run into the islands and
arriving on the 5th evaporated a couple of hours ago with the wind, which has
veered again forcing us north of our path, again.
Still nothing on the
fishing lines, but the sun has been out today and I've managed to have another
go at sorting out the short on the duogen.
We're motorsailing
again - making about 5kts in roughly the right direction. Fingers crossed the
winds will back again and give us something more to work
with.
