Carlingford Lough

Day 6: At rest in Carlingford. A day to recuperate after our 16hr trip yesterday. A explore of Carlingford a cute little village on the Lough dating from medieval times. It has a castle , a drying harbour and traditional town square .

Lunch was local oysters from the Lough - delicious.

We found out more about the floating ship at the harbour (Cretegaff) an historic concrete vessel made before the First World War by the same ship builders that built the Nab tower and the Thames forts. There was also a historic ship in the harbour that towed Thames barges back in the day.

Early start again tomorrow to hit the Lough exit at slack water (low) then down to Malahide to hit the entry at slack water (high)
