I hope you are all enjoying reading our blog, I am writing this at 14.00 hrs after a very pleasant lunch of beef with black bean sauce & ginger with noodles  This excellent lunch was prepared by Charlie in his normal exuberant fashion  Over the last 24 hours we have experienced all sorts of conditions.  During yesterday we had some wonderful sailing with the spinnaker up in the most wonderful sunshine, unfortunately the wind strength has dropped over the last 12 hours to the extent that we are now motoring in less than 4 knots of wind.  We have the radio on Channel 77 and we are able to listen to conversations between other boats it would appear there are many other boats around experiencing the same lack of wind.  One point of interest is we are able to transmit and receive up to approximately 100 miles.

There is much discussion as to the best way to get through the next 24 hrs of predicted light winds. It would appear the consensus is to continue south towards the Cape Verde Islands to get into a more favourable wind system. | 

The dusk came about 17.45 last night with the most perfect sunset that I have ever seen to be followed about 19.00 hrs by the most perfect moon rise.  Before the moon arrived we were treated to a fantastic starlit sky. Twice today we have been visited by Dolphins but this is the only life we have seen apart from 2 lost looking birds.  As a little treat today the skipper allowed the crew to take a salt water wash with our “special” shampoo followed by a very quick rinse in ships water.  Photos are available from our agent at enormous cost.

Still about 2500 miles to go to St Lucia.  We are mildly confident that we are doing reasonably well, and spirits on board are still high.
