According to one of the guys at last night’s camp stop this area has been OK for rain.  But on the way the scenery was guess

Despite the rain the fields look pretty dry.  This cowboy was herding some of his cattle along the highway

All the caravan parks in Charters Towers were full so we stayed at a free camp spot called Reid River.
