After 4 days 2 hours , 659 NM at an average speed of 6.8 knots NLII and her crew safely arrive in Las Palmas. Up until the evening of the 14th the Parasailor continued to be flown - it was up for 36 hours - what a sail! Over the 4 days we had to motor sail with the main up for a couple of days due to the strength of the wind and its direction to keep the boat speed up to as close as 7 knots as we could. Nick’s flight was Saturday and Alexander and my flight Sunday - we had to get there!
The King’s boat speed record was not beaten by the Loftus team however the Loftus team did record the highest speed for 2 days! In the last 24 hours many pods of dolphins were seen together with turtles approaching Las Palmas. I would like to thank all the crew for their hard work , great company and for helping NLII to reach Las Palmas for the next journey in November - thank you Alexander, Nick and Tom. Photos and videos attached of our trip - more to be loaded tomorrow
The next blog will be in November when we set off on the ARC+ with Sarah and I will be welcoming Cat, Geertje and Tom to join us on the adventure across the Atlantic.
Over and out
Michael
