The past 6 weeks cruising the islands of French Polynesia have been
brilliant. All the islands are so different and unique in their own way. The
Marquesas, with their high volcanic jagged peaks and lovely deep bays were
really interesting. Highlights include Anaho Bay on Nuka Hiva where we went
snorkelling with manta rays, the goat roast with the locals in Daniels Bay,
and the bushwalk up to the waterfall also in Daniels Bay.
Next up were the Dangerous Islands of the Tuamotos - we went to Keauhi,
Fakarava and Toau - all stunning and sparsely populated. The kids loved the
snorkelling and the wilderness living. We also toured a pearl farm and made
a few purchases,
Next up after reprovisioing and some boatwork in Papeete we headed to
Moorea, Raitea, Tahaa and Bora Bora. We have had John's sister and husband
on board the past 2 weeks and it has been fantastic. Great food, good
company and lots of exotic sunsets mixed with various concoctions!
The kids are in good form, catching up with some schoolwork and enjoying the
swimming and snorkelling.
We are now looking forward to the Cooks, Nuie and then Tonga!
Cheers for now
