Wow - we have just crossed the Equator and saluted King Neptune on our way
to the Galapagos Islands. We have been going 6 days on the 900 mile crossing
and are on track for an arrival mid afternoon tomorrow afternoon into San
Christobal (Wreck Bay). It has been a mixture of strong northerlies out of
the Gulf of Panama followed by the doldrums as we crossed the ITCZ and then
some motorsailing and some champagne sailing in the southeasterly trade
winds. Having motored a fair bit we still have plenty in the tank so all
looking good for our last night at sea. After 3 weeks at La Playita doing
boatwork and awaiting parts it is awesome to be back on the "road" again and
making ground!
Adios for now and speak again soon. Over and out from the Nika crew
