Its been a great day of sailing, really good progress under sail.

Yesterday around lunch time while we were sailing along at 9-11kn with good winds of 18-22kn, the fishing rod went absolutely wild!!!

We managed to slow the boat in record time, dumping sails, and the full reel was three quarters empty! We could visually see this large, big, bodied bill fish jumping and swaying its head out of the water.

The line was almost completely off the reel when we manged to get a hold of it and start the fight in.

Thomas put in a cracking effort and fought hard, breathing very heavily as this fish gave him a proper workout.

While about halfway in, sadly this large one got away - It was massive! 😊

The adrenaline was quite a spectacle, and we were all left with a classic fisherman’s tale of the one that got away…

This morning we were greeted by dolphins again, very entertaining as the played in the waves & swell behind the boat, surfing as they do.

To our surprise we spotted whales!  😊

Always special to see these large mammals surfing and swimming along.

Overcast day today with good winds at the moment 18-24kn.

Its been a memorable day so far with loads of entertainment and really good sailing.
