Changes
Good day everyone.
Now that IDEA has settled herself in over the last couple of days in Gibraltar some changes have been made, both for the better and for the worse. We have lost a crew member - well we haven't actually lost him we know exactly where he is, but he is no longer with the boat.
Nicholas Hughes, Tall, dark, handsome, charming, hysterically funny, and generally a great all around guy has flown back to Barbados. Nick joined IDEA in Barbados for the express purpose of the delivery to the Med and now that we are here he needed, for many reasons, to go home. It is a sad day for us as we've come to love Nicks company and general good cheer. No matter the weather, or situation Nick was able to bring a smile to our faces. No matter the time of day or night he was able to brighten our lives (usually due to the bright neon yellow foul weather salopettes that required dark dark sunglasses to look at). Nick was simply awesome have around and be around and we will miss him immensely. We have all begged him to, if not stay, come back as he was such a perfect fit for the boat and crew dynamic. For those of you in Barbados I recommend a day trip out on one of the SilverMoon catamarans where he works when not galavanting through the ocean with us. You will not be disappointed.
Nick, farewell buddy and as said = Come back already!
Replacing Nick is one James Pritchard. James is not new to IDEA having already crossed the Atlantic and done the Caribbean racing season with her in the past. James is an engineer by trade and brings a huge amount of knowledge and skill with him as he moves his bags on board. James, a resident of Gibraltar, has served not only as an engineer but as a fleet captain for cruising rally's in the Med and the local knowledge that comes with him will be a huge asset as we move around the during the summer season.
James, welcome to our world. We look forward to the months ahead.
We continue to work on the boat fixing and doing and preparing for our next leg of our Mediterranean adventure. It looks like we will depart Gib with the tide Friday afternoon bound for Tarragona, Spain which, I believe has been mentioned, is going to be our home base for the summer.
Look out Med region, a Fantastic IDEA is coming!
