Day 2
The day started bright but cold with Gary, Pete and
Doug taking over the helm at 0700hrs (Pete had got up at 0600hrs as found it
hard to sleep for Tricia’s Blackberry alarm going off). Tricia and Tim crashed
out ‘til 1030hrs by which time the wind was dying away. After Goose
winging for a couple of hours the decision to put the engine on had to be taken.
Motor sailing on auto-helm for the rest of the day would have been tedious but
for the old fishermen’s’ tales coming from Pete and Doug. Even
that couldn’t keep Tricia awake and Doug eventually sent himself to
sleep. After a pasta Dinner in the saloon Gary provided the day’s best
entertainment by….. [editor’s

stays on the boat” we are unable to allow this part of the blog to be
published. We can say that Gary
still continues to suffer the effects of seasickness]. We certainly
needed the laugh as we were making about 1knot/hr over the ground against the
tide at Tusker Rock and had been enjoying the view of the light house for several
hours. The weather remained bright and dry as the whole crew turned in
leaving skipper Pete on watch with just his I-pod this was to drown out the
noise from the fore cabin made by the tmm crew.
