Fair Do's VII, Atlantic 2008....
Professor John Shepherd

JK's guest (slightly inferior
blog):
Good afternoon all from a very moist Fair Do's.
Unlike the others Hugh and I didn't see the
the squall as we felt it was very definatly a good time to come off watch......
Which I have just been informed by the skipper that it was 20 mins
early.
Our day started at 2 am with George on watch
telling us that he had opened day 4 on his virtual advent calender and that
there was a shepherd, which slightly ironic as it possible that a new Shepherd
could be arriving, as John's daughter maybe going into labour! Good luck
from all on board!
For those interested Day 1 was a jingle bell; day 2
a sprig of holly and day 3 an advent candle. Those who man the graveyard shift
(02-00 - 06-00) await the opening of each day with great anticipation). Jonathan
is not best pleased that he hasnt been allowed to open a window as yet but
George has pointed out that he should have remembered to bring his own virtual
advent calendar.
The days are going fairly slowly at the moment but it has given me a chance to hone my light air
trimming, for which I am now known as 'The Specialist'.
George on Red watch has chosen the music again
today for the 2pm watch crossover by playing Top Gun theme as their
motivational start to the day (these guys do worry me.....)
There's not alot else going on since the rains
started no wild life at all recently and I still haven't seen a whale most
disapointing!
Message from Jonathon Herrod:
Dispatches from home tell us we have a northern
posse of support so hello to Elaine and everyone at the Liverpool Women's
Hospital, Pants and Alex in Oxton (posh birkenhead) and Margaret and Gerald
in Sheffield(much posher sister of Rotherham).
So that's pretty much it from here other than
I noticed that Matt H looks a bit like Ewan McGregor at the moment with
his ginger beard!
And this will not be a surprise for those of you
who know me, I am gagging for a beer!
See you all soon
JK
P.S. I have found the experience life
changing and I have now embraced religion, as well as rather enjoyed the company
of 9 gentlemen in such a way I never thought I would.
