Hello Friends
"10:00N
98:24W"
Happy Valentines Day All !
We've been at sea for a week and we're
enjoying a light breeze from the North East - just enough to fly the larger
Sanders spinnaker for the first time.
We're 900 miles from our start and have 2700
to go to Nuku Hiva
(distances over the ground, not through the
water).
Not much to report: we've put the clocks
back an hour today and a helicopter circled us during lunch, we think from one
of the fishing / whaling boats.
For the record, the satellite system is having some
difficulty seeing the new AOR-W satellite which is the one we need at the
moment. If this blog gets posted then we connected today, but it has been a bit
difficult. Maybe it will be better when we get to the POR satellite (check
inmarsat.com to understand all this). BUT if you don't hear from us for a while
- it's just the technology - no actual problems.
All well on board.
Best Wishes
George, Michael, Alex and Simon
