Whitby 4-6th May

Bliss

We were exhausted, particularly Chris who hadn't had any sleep, I'd managed a couple of hours, safe in the knowledge that Bliss was in good hands, I don't think Chris had the same level of confidence somehow!
So we planned a two night stop in Whitby, and after a good night's rest we spent Saturday morning on jobs, restocking supplies, diesel and water and looking at charts for the next passage north. In the afternoon we caught a bus to the beautiful Runswick
Bay and walked back along the coastal path, it was stunning.

It was so warm we contemplated a swim, and as we reached the end of our walk the golden sand and sparkly water beckoned.....I paddled out 'til the water was just above my knees, Chris managed a full emersion for at least three seconds; painfully cold! We found a pub and enjoyed a refreshing pint of Yorkshire bitter.
Dinner aboard was paella, using local Whitby seafood and a bottle of white. Walking, great weather , beautiful scenery,it's beginning to feel like we're on holiday.
