It seems that our attempt to send photos with the blog have sent it into cyberspace, so with them removed, here are the last 2 days......

Day 5

Who was it that had the hit song "Life is a Rollercoaster"? Pah! If he'd done 48 hours on a beam reach across Biscay he'd have the bruises to show life ON a rollercoaster and certainly wouldn't be bloomin singing about it!. With a corkscrew motion in 3m swell it's impossible to predict the boat's next motion so we're all a bit bashed about. However, it's been a fabulous run across and we've done 150 miles in the last 24 hours, currently goose-winging at 6 knots in a steady force 4 with the sun shining. 90 miles to go to Cape Villiano and round the corner for a run down the Spanish coast.

Joss is about to serve up egg and tuna salad accompanied by a beer, so time to cut this short. Feel free to email us back, but no attachments please.

Au revoir and ola!

Day 6

Rounded Cape Finisterre at 0800 this morning, a total of 64 hours after leaving Brittany. Not bad when the original forecast was for winds on our nose the whole way. Still on a broad reach and heading for Bayona tonight, hoping for better weather than the grey, overcast and showery conditions we're in at the moment. This is Spain for goodness sake!

For the last 2 nights there's been fantastic photoluminescence in the water, looking like a shower of sparks coming off the bow wave, and both mornings we've had a visit from dolphins playing around the boat. Only drama today is that we've run out of water in the tanks. Chief suspect is a faulty valve, but there's no more washing until we get to the next port, and the only drinks are beer and gin.....ah well!

Day 6.5

Arrived in Bayona.
Calm water, solid ground and clean underpants.
Life is good.
