MAILASAIL AUTOMATIC WEATHER RESPONDER

-------------------------

ABOUT:

This weather service is a simple system to offer popular weather
forecasts and charts by email.

Our goal is to provide a deliberately limited subset of all the weather
available, and only to provide the most useful forecasts in an easy to
access format. If you would like to see additional charts or forecasts
added then please email: support {CHANGE TO AT} mailasail {DOT} com

USAGE:

Send a blank message with the data filename as the ONLY word in the
SUBJECT line to: weather {CHANGE TO AT} mailasail {DOT} com
The datafile will be sent back immediately
NOTE: FILENAMES ARE CASE SENSITIVE
In most email programs clicking on the links in the text below will
create a new email with the correct subject line

HELP DOCUMENT INDEX

This is file is the master index of other help documents that you can
request from this mail server. Previously we had all the instructions in
a single message but it was becoming unwieldy for some users to download
over limited connections such as SailMail. Therefore we have sliced the
documentation into a number of sub-documents which you can easily
request using the links below.

Note: In general you probably want to retrieve all three of the
following help files

INDEX FILENAME
DESCRIPTION

help-grib
GRIB FILES. This document describes how to automatically request binary
GRIB data.
NOTE: You will need a viewer program in order to do something useful
with this data. Please see: http://www.mailasail.com/Support/Weather [1]

help-text
TEXTUAL WEATHER REPORTS. This document describes how to automatically
request a variety of weather forecasts and reports that are available in
text format (ie no pictures). Text format weather files will download
much faster than graphical forecasts over slower internet connections

help-graphic
GRAPHICAL WEATHER REPORTS. This document describes how to
automatically request a variety of weather forecasts and reports that
are available in graphical format (ie they are pictures). Beware that on
slower internet connections it may take several minutes to download each
picture, so don't order too many at one time
