English Channel

This morning we emerged out of the English Channel. We happened to go
through all the hot spots at night. This made for interesting navigation, to
say the least. A lot of good and bad experience was gained by everyone.
Our steaming light has broken. Ted went climbing 2 days ago to fix it, but
to no avail. Lots of traffic with us and lots of traffic crossing. We must
have seen about 12 ferries overnight, and this was all night. Don't know why
people want to cross to the channel at 2 and 4 in the morning.
We are having great speed. We are 33% above our speed estimates, so an early
arrival is a go. Tuesday maybe.
Now we are into the North sea. A horrible place. Always grey and
unhospitable. But the wind is our way, not comfortable, but again fast.
