After a slightly later than expected start at 5pm, occasioned by spending the day very agreeably driving around Belle Ile with Alex's maman, we hoved up in Houat at about 8.30. Pronounced like 'what', this small, low island forms part of a barrier of vicious rocks between the Bay of Biscay and Golfe du Morbihan. We watched the sun go down from the boat, while a chap with nothing on capered about in the surf with a large camera taking photos of us. Very strange. But a delightful, quiet anchorage.
