We've left the odorous surroundings of Leixoes marina for the march south to Lisbon. There's a good wind for heading south and we spent the night at the mouth of a giant silted up estuary called Aveiro. Arriving at nightful we had a jolly time avoiding shipping as it left the container terminal in the river, and then dodging sandbanks and unlit buoys in the dark. We anchored up close to a boat we'd met in Viveiro, skippered by a Belgo-Australian (more the latter than the former) making his way to Brazil, Panama and the Pacific in a 23 foot traditionally built boat.

Today, on to Figueira da Foz, which is a pretty town attached to an expensive marina. It's another 40 miles and we aim to arrive before dark this time...
