Summer Song has made a gentle landfall at Lajes (curiously pronounced 'lash' in Portuguese). After a glorious approach to this cloud covered chunk of volcanic rock in warm sun and light winds, we're now bobbing on the remnants of swell in the brand new marina. We've mostly cleared in and have been granted the freedom of the island. It's hellfire hot, so we're heading to the black sand beach.
