Well we've been right round the houses today - we're at 38:55.08N 26:27.02W - we left Horta yesterday, after disentangling Stromoli nfrom the raft, and caught up with Fia Tira (who'd left an hour earlier) by tea time. Then we got a call from them to say that there is something of a clash bof the weather routers. Now our weather man - old stokey, a most experienced yachtsman and a specialist in Atlantic routings, is saying head N young man (well NE) and let not your clogs be dull and mossed (i.e. get on with it, Jimmy) whilst their man is saying don't go above 40N, head for harbour, doom, gloom, whirlwinds, waterspouts, typhoons, etc, etc. So we followed them (they'd sneaked by in the night) into Tercceira for a chin wag and to borrow their Portuguese charts should we bottle out and go that way. In the end with these things you pays your money and ....... so we're plodding on (Fia Tira will has chosen to stay in harbour for a few days so the fleet is broken up) we're doing 6+ knots and heading more-or-less for Bishops' Rock (just of the Scillies). Tonightds supposed to be the worst patch but the direction is favourable, anyway - stout hearts! Its fairly lumpy andtypings a bit queezy-making so more soon. Love the crew.
