The Genny, our watermelon-red asymmetrical gennaker is showing off her stuff, pulling us across the Atlantic at up to 9.67 knots. We finally reached the latitude of the Cape Verde Islands and that's where the trade winds kick in. We are downwinding with a steady 13-22-knot north-easterly under sunny skies. So far not a drop of rain. Minor power supply and spinnaker pole problems apart, we are really beginning to enjoy the ARC.  In the past few days we cought four fish, but today no luck.
The batteries seem weak and we ran out of distilled water. I guess, we'll just have to make some. The spinnaker pole is stuck at the mast and we are still working on how to get it loose. We don't really need it at this moment. Saw some flying fish but no dolphins yet. Oh yes, forgot to mention that Mujo, our Hydrovne automatic wind pilot, working like a horse for us day an night if necessary, doing an excellent job, perhaps zig-zagging more than a human, but still giving the crew a rest.

After a rather rocky start, this is turning out to be a real pleasure cruise.
