Up Early to a find blue clear sky. Engine checks completed and sun cream applied permission was given by Dover port control to leave via the western exit.

With the wind light and from the south west, the day was made up between sailing and motor sailing.

A good day to start some navigation exercises and the passing from east to west gave us some interesting positions.

Rounding Beachy Head the wind totally died and the sea had a glass appearance. With the sun lowering towards the horizon we made our way under motor towards Brighton.

Tomorrow we will be making our way to the Solent.
