We passed a special meridian of longitude for us at 06.22 local Tahitian time or 16:22 UTC.

We crossed 155° 58’.69 West.

We consider the true starting point of our circumnavigation round the world to be Cape Sounio in Greece where The Temple of Poseidon, named after the Greek God of the Sea, stands high above The Aegean.

Cape Sounio is at 24° 01’ 31 East exactly 180° from the median we have just crossed, or in terms of the meridians we cross, half way round the world.

and now for some really useless information…..

We left on Friday 16 August 2013 at 12:55 Greek summer time or 09:55 UTC. Melissa’s 27th birthday!

It has taken us 2 years, 2 weeks, 3 days, 6 hours and 27 minutes to get half way round the world.

The second half will take considerably longer, that was far too quick!
