Departed Povoa and headed straight into a force 6.
Genoa jammed and I had to go out onto the bow and got a good soaking.
Thankfully, and with Fordys brute force, we sorted it.
Autohelm cannot cope again as following sea is too
powerful. Crew helmed in 4 hour shifts and 1 hour at the wheel each time. Last
night was the hardest as we are really tired and the boat is upside down and
this makes you feel worse.
3:00 hrs We lost our position on
the electronic chart and it showed the boat as being on land! Lat and
long was ok but crew no.2 ( fordy and Mike ) had no track to follow and we are
heading for a specific point between two islands.
We were going into Figuera for a rest but I was too
nervous about the swell going into the harbour and despite trying to contact the
coastguard to see if the harbour was open I decided to push on as a yacht was
lost on the entrance bar in 97 in similar conditions.
Crew in great spirits although everyones eyes are
like one of those red-eye photos....
May push on .....
